Like a painting, a felting is an expressive composition that not only embellishes interior walls, but delights and/or stimulates the viewer.  Its "canvas", made from various types of animal hair, is wet-felted into a structurally dense fabric forming the background on which various materials are applied to create images, symbols, etc.  Unlike paintings, feltings are very textural and usually difficult to resist from touching.
